Our Season Overview
What we fish for, When, & F.A.Q.S
Lake Ontario
Lake Ontario is famous for it's world class fishery and it's record breaking Trout and Salmon. We fish out of two different ports which allows us the best of both worlds!
Point Breeze, NY (Oak Orchard Creek) March, April, & beginning of May: this time of year we target Brown Trout, right near the shoreline in 8-15 feet of water this is top water, fast action, light lined fishing! This time of year also allows us to slide out a little bit further for some possible Lake Trout, Coho, and King Salmon.
Point Breeze, NY (Oak Orchard Creek) end of May, June, July, and August: This time of year out of the Oak is what Lake Ontario is famous for! We start sliding further offshore in May into 100-200 feet of water and by June and July we can be as deep as 5-600feet of water. Great mixed boxes of King and Coho Salmon as well as Steelhead are what's playing during the summer and there's no better port then the Oak with the quick access to deep water and biting fish! There is also always a nice patch of Brown Trout that hang off the structure inshore if your looking to tangle with one of those beauty's as well.
Mexico New York (Little Salmon River) late August through Mid-Sept: For late August we move back to the port of Mexico for the Salmon staging run. Thousands of mature Salmon stack up in Mexico bay to head to the Salmon River and the many creeks surrounding it. Boxes of heavy Salmon are the norm and you may also see some Brown Trout in the mix as well.
Point Breeze, NY (Oak Orchard Creek) Late September through October: To finish off the season we come back to the Oak to fish two different style fisheries. Steelhead offshore with a few Salmon in the mix and Brown Trout inshore.

F.A.Q.S
Q: Can we book groups larger than 6?
A: There is most always a second vessel available to help with larger parties.
Q: Do we fish in bad weather?
A: Our charter boats are hard tops with drop-curtains so we are able to fish in most any weather. Cancellations due to high winds may be possible at the Captain's descretion. We do not consider rain to be bad weather... the fish are already wet. Most often times, the captain will call at least three days ahead of your scheduled trip to discuss the weather with you for your upcoming charter.
Q: What is time of departure?
A:Our morning charters normally depart between 5 and 6 am depending on the time of year. Our 6hr afternoon charters depart around 2pm.

Q: Are alchohol and cigarettes allowed onboard?
A: We do allow you to smoke cigarettes/e-cigs etc. on our vessels however we ask that you stand on the back deck when doing so. Alchohol is permitted on board but we ask that you don't get too carried away. No illegal substances are allowed onboard any vessel at any time! If found, you shall be reported immediately and your trip will be terminated. ZERO TOLERANCE.

Q: What should I bring with me?
A: Bulleted list below!
-
Ny State fishing license (age 15 and under not required)
-
Seasonally appropriate clothing (depending on weather and time of year)
-
Drinks and food for while you're onboard
-
Cooler to bring home your catch
-
Sunglasses, camera, sunscreen (lotion)
-
We strongly prefer no spray/aerosol sunscreen or bugspray as it can get on the deck, equipment and lures.
Q: Cancellation Policy?
A: We allow our clients to cancel up to 14 days before a scheduled trip. The option is given first to rebook and if not, your deposit will be refunded. If we cancel due to weather, your deposit will be refunded. The exception to the 14 day rule is if there is a family emergency of some sort - such as a death in the family or a current hospitalization of a family member. We do understand things happen in life.
